Hello Holidays! :)
Yay, end of common tests!
But somehow not as relieved as I hoped that I would be. Bleh. >_>
Well, I guess it all boils down to my unpreparedness while doing the papers I guess. Whatever. Common tests don't kill because they're only questions on paper. The results don't kill either because they're just senseless figures scrawled in red ink on your answers scripts that only parents try to make sense of. Only not meeting up to expectations kills. BUT. Whatever. Who cares. At least I know I've put in my 1000000000000% for Econs. Even if I fail.
Day before GP, was studying Comparative Advantage. Day before Chem, was studying Protectionism, FTA and multiplier. Day before Maths, was studying homeostasis and factors affecting consumption and investment for Econs (cos I gave up on Globalisation-which until now, I still couldn't make any sense out of the lecture notes....). And crammed the rest of the J2 topics and all the J1 topics as much as possible before Econs, but still didn't manage to start on market failure at all (kind of sad, since I never studied that topic before - yes, even promos - and it just have to come out as the other option for essay). [which is precisely the reason why I couldn't cover more than half of my revision for biology]
Crap, but come to think of it, I don't really think it's worth it to study Econs at the expense of other subjects, but oh wells, it's all over. The study of Econs incur a higher opportunity cost than the preparation for other science and maths subjects, so I was at a comparative disadvantage when I tried to specialise and focus on it (LOL).
I was telling Eirene the other day... Econs people in our band usually have no stand when writing essays.. so the thesis, antithesis and synthesis structure for standard econs essay would only translate to "yes", "no" and "I-don't-know" structure for our essays. HAHAHA.
Oh well, I just hope that I can get 4Cs! It's quite hard for bio, I realised (since I only wrote 2 sentences for the 20 marks evolution essay - wth). It just had to be an evolution question for essay! T_T First thing that came to mind - the evolution module exam in nus high which I only got 36% (haha, sze min can you remember this in year 4 when almost the entire cohort failed). Then I read through the question and tried (reasonably hard, I guess) to decipher it - but to no avail, duh. Then Darren's email on evolution for M&Ms came to mind (haha, and I almost started to laugh out loud). But after that, I just decided to forget all about it and invested all my time on the 4 pathetic structured questions. And it doesn't really help if you already knew that you have no confidence for this bio test, and you're panicking in your seat, but your teacher just has to loiter around you, ocassionally peeping at your answer from behind you, or blatantly staring at your script from the side, throughout the 3 hours. DAMN IRRITATING LA. wa lao.. not like his knowledge can be transmitted to me by invisible neurotransmitters through the air right. And and... I also screwed up chem by doing only 2.5 questions out of the 4 questions for essay. smart right. so not. T_T whatever la.
I'm more than glad that the much awaited holidays are finally here! :D Friday today, and the weekends. Then bye bye holidays and hello science camp and project jumbo, followed by hello term 2. I just realised that my quality of life is near negative infinity. LOL. no social life. pathetic.
Chinese A Levels Results are released today. Most people in my class were happy with their results, and I'm happy for them too! :) Then I saw my seniors from Interact coming back to school to collect their A levels results. I think they'd done well. Congrats! :D

This time last week, I was so disheartened that I couldn't even bring myself to face my parents.
This was how 'special' my leap day was.
I just hope that this time next year, I will sigh a huge sigh of relief - and not of regret.
